Syed Shibli Faraz is a Pakistani politician who is serving as the Leader of the House for the Senate of Pakistan since 26 August 2018 and as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting since 28 April 2020. He has been a member of the Senate of Pakistan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2015.
Faraz is an investment banker by profession and was a Pakistan Air Force pilot and then a civil servant. He has contested the election for the Kohat District mayor in 2002 and his uncle Barrister Syed Masood Kausar had served as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is the son of Ahmad Faraz, one of the country's most acclaimed poets. His family is of Pashtun background.
He serves as the chairman of the committees on circular debt and commerce and textile in the Senate. In August 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Faraz as the leader of the house in the Senate.
On 27 April 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed him as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
